We the People – Socialism and the Political Santa Claus

Increasingly the visible differences between
socialist Democrats and liberal Republicans are
blended. One significant reason for this is
simple…reelection, hold onto power, the fine office
and parking space. Former U.S. Senator John McCain
was a champion of this deliberate technique of
sounding conservative about six months prior to
reelection, but the remaining five and a half years
of his term, he was, for all accounts, liberal with
an exception here and an exception there. Campaign
toward your base and say what the people need to
hear is really an unwritten motto of many in elected
offices today. Doesn’t matter whether at state
levels or national, the political styles are quite
similar, quite predictable if one simply sits back
and observes. People love the idea of receiving
something for nothing. People love the concept that
government can, and should make our lives easier by
intervening with programs, money, rules and policies
that remove most responsibility from the citizen and
replace the burden of responsibility on the ever
encroaching government. Socialists are truly adept
at sounding like political Santa Claus making
promises of good tidings and cheer, gifts of all
dimensions and sizes that will make the citizenry
happy and giggle, become full of merriment and not
question any of the handouts for fear of receiving
coal in their stocking if they dare to challenge.
While liberal Republicans may be a bit slower in
sounding the horn to the gravy train, they are just
as complicit by not standing up and simply saying,
“No!” Where have our leaders gone? Where are those
who prefer to be constitutionally right and
responsible? Our founders would be aghast at so
very many in elected offices today.
Here is an example of a proposal that sounds just swell. Pushed by the communist Bernie Sanders who is referred to as a mere socialist Democrat, his proposal is finding great reception among millennials who simply are so poorly educated and unlearned about our founding principles and documents which makes our Nation so desirous for others to want to break into. This example is taken from Bernie Sander’s debate but without any democrats objecting in any true manner. Notice how sweet it all sounds – at first. Then notice how the hammer falls on those grabbing every crumb of goody they can take.
Sanders (and other socialist Democrats) want the minimum wage to become $15 an hour. So $15 times a 40 hour work week = $600. The $600 per week pay times 52 weeks per year = $31,200. He also wants free health care for all. How would he cover the cost? Raise taxes to 52% on every person making over $29,000 per year. So…let’s break this down. Taxing 52% of $31,200 = $16,224 in taxes. Take $31,200 minus $16,224 = $14,976 in pay. This relates to: $14,976 divided by 52 weeks, and you have a salary of $288 per week. Now at a 40 hour week your hourly wage is…wait for it, $7.20 per hour!! Marvelous!! But do not confuse people with the real facts, the beauty is in the promise – “free health care for all.” You gotta love political style gift giving.
