It Is Tea Party Time in America

If there was ever a time when this country needed the combined strength of citizens who believe in supporting the Constitution, reducing national debt, controlling unsupportable spending and defending the security of our borders, that time is now. Both major political parties have proven to be totally incapable of correcting the nation’s plummeting destructive course and virtually every person holding national office has shown themselves to be unworthy of their titles or future public support.
If that statement sounds too harsh, you haven’t been currently engaged in any public discourse. At this hour only 14 percent of the population believes the country is moving in the right direction. That is a staggering number. When 86 percent of the people in this country feel it is on a collision course with destruction, the situation is indeed bleak. Add to those numbers the fact that more than 62 percent of those who are involved, voting citizens say they plan to vote “against” anyone seeking in office who is reelection, regardless of political party, and you have the perfect storm brewing for another massive Tea Party revolt.
The importance of the Tea Party movement cannot be ignored. It was effective in bringing about challengers against incumbents in numerous primary elections. Numerous Tea Party favorites also won seats in Congress and state elections. Granted, some of those who were elected with Tea Party support, such as Scott Brown of Massachusetts, have been major disappointments to those who voted them into office. However, they too can be sanctioned when next up for election.
The liberal faction of America fears the Tea Party. From the snide jokes about “tea baggers” parroted by leftist talking heads to the whining complaints on television be Senator John Kerry about the media giving too much coverage to “fringe groups, it is clear Democrats find these citizens a major threat. The donkey brand is doing everything possible to marginalize the Tea Party, while at the same time the Republican leadership cannot bring itself to completely embrace the movement.
Labor Day is always the big kick-off date to start any presidential election campaign. Now it is obvious everybody is running toward the White House at breakneck speed already, but Labor Day still remains the traditional day the presidential race trumpet sounds. Some are starting to say that would also be a perfect day for a massive Tea Party rally.
Rallies and marches and even a bus caravan took place across the United States during the last call for voters to cast their ballots. The election of 2012 is an even more critical moment in the life of our country. With an economy unable to recover, 14 million Americans out of work, 16 million people underemployed, a crashing stock market that has lost all of its 2011 gains, gasoline prices still well over $3.50 a gallon and the current administration still screaming out for more and more taxation… Americans have had enough of that promise for change. What is happening to the country right now is not the change anyone in his or her right mind ever wanted to see.
It appears, with things as bad as they are in America, everyone might feel a lot better if we just held another huge Tea Party and kept holding them for the next 14 months.
